Once we look into this, it does make sense that Madara was able to Gain rinnengan regardless of weather he was blind or not.
Remember if this fight was inevitable from the beginning and Madara had already read the doctored tablet then this means he thought of the consequences and solutions before the fight went down.
Izanagi was a technique known to quite a few uchiha and this was why Izanami was made in the first place, to combat it.
So its firstly, logical for Madara of all uchiha to know this technique.
