madara's rinnegan confusing???

So, if the progressed sharingan is called RINNEGAN, then how come Nagato activated his Rinnegan on his own? Nagato is not an uchiha anyway. But this puzzled me, `coz i don't believe Madara gave his Rinnegan on Nagato. I don't remember any scene where Nagato talks something about a man (Madara) which he met years ago.

There isn't anywhere in the manga or anime where you see Nagato with anything other than the Rinnegan. His hair is always covering his eyes. We never actually see him activate it, we just assumed.

When a non Uchiha recieves the Sharingan, that person cannot deactivate it, a good example for that is Kakashi...
So i'm thinking it's the same when someone recieves the rinnegan.

i wasnt saying that nagato deactivated it, i was saying that madara activated it. as a short cut to his plan of revival

Random thought, why didn't Madara just use Rinne Tensei to revive his real body back, since he is an edo and using Rinne Tensei would not be a drag for him.

In that case there would be 2 madara's, one is an edo and the other is flesh and blood.
