Ehh,I'll give your prediction a chance. Madara could have doen an Izanagi time bomb to undo what would happen to him when he utilized Obito's Magekyou. Maybe right when Kaguya is about to destroy Naruto and Sasuke would be when Obito's eye opens and closes, bringing back Madara. It's highly unlikely, but only to most people =]

Madara being arrogant doesn't mean he was stupid. He's self-resurrected twice in the series already. Plus defeated Edo Tensei and wiped out more people in the war than anyone else. There's at least some chance Madara knew about BZ/Kaguya/S06P and made a plan to kill off the Sage's entire family. He may also be planning to pursue Kaguya's power and use it to annihilate the idea of shinobi from the world altogether.

Madara wanted to create the IT, but he also wanted to end the corrupt world that the S06P had created and destroy chakra. If he sensed Kaguya's chakra within the Mazo, he'll have been waiting for her to emerge so that he can kill her too. Plus he'd want to eat the chakra fruit. Why?
