I think its fairly obvious at this point. Theres been no previous attempts to paint him as a sympathetic character. Everybody whos been TNJ'd has a story where you could empathize with them. Madara's backstory was where he lost his brother and didnt really care, was a traitor to his village, and tried to kill his best friend. No, Madara's just gonna be the end boss.

I don't think he will be TNJ, but I think when he is defeated he will be on the ground dying and he will show some form of regret on how things turned out.

He probably has one last talk with Hashriama, and they finally see themselves in Naruto and Sasuke and remark that that could have been them.

But that's it, I think we will just get some regret and humility from him after he falls.

I would actually argue that he is even more so.
