Well the new mask tbh looks ridiculous I dont like it but.

It is meant to symbolism that hes getting closer to his goal.

If we break it down to get more info the look of the mask obviously implies a Sharingan/Rinnegan combo do to the ripple like nature of the mask like Nagatos Rinnegan and the 3 Sharingan symbols.

Because there are 3 dont begin to think he will be getting a 3rd eye there are 3 because a normal Sharingan has 3 symbols on it.

The look of the mask also implies a change in his Space time jutsu.

His last mask was done in a spiralling pattern towards his right eye which when he choose to would be used to use his space time jutsu and absorb people and when done it would create a vortex like his mask: a spiral towards his eye.

With the new mask its kinda implying that when he does this next it will be different? I mean with a ripple pattern maybe his space time jutsu/absorbing will look like a ripple vortex but thats just a guess.

Look at how many tomoes does the Sharingan have. 2 wouldnt have made sense on the mask.

Just because there are three holes doesn't mean he's got three eyes it's just the sharingan pattern. Besides why would he implant it in his forehead. If he was smart he made one in the back of his head.'

The flame looking mask was the best. This mask is kinda funky. He looks like Iron Man ninja style.

There are not 3 holes!

Look at it again its 2 eye holes you can see the shadow of it and the 3rd eye is just black i.e. painted.

Its not a hole its a painted tomoe.

The mask looks stupid but as I said before his last mask was the same swirl and direction of his space time jutsu so maybe that has changed i.e. a ripple motion instead of swirl before teleportation etc.
