Madara's looks like Indra with its pony tails, Sasuke's looks like him and possesses a bow, and Kakashi's possesses a scar across the eye. I'd say they represent the wielders. Anyway, I more or less already made this thread, though it was more about the MS techniques and just included Limbo.

I believe Limbo represents Madara's dream of having eternal false peace as Limbo in Dante's Inferno is the circle of hell that depicts a false heaven. However, yes, the five clones and his five brothers are also a good parallel. I also theorized a while back that it was made via a permanent fusion of Madara and Shisui's MS techniques (which I believe may have been amaterasu and tsukuyomi) through the manifestation of the Rinnegan or Madara's manual use of it's Yin-Yang release.

Actually Madara had five Limbo ... one was sealed .

He mentioned four dead bros talking to Hashirama as a kid. Fifth would be Izuna.

Although the databook says that double rinnegan can only do 4 limbos, so presumably the first one ran out of time while madara was in Kamui.

What kind of reply is that, with no evidence? The DataBook does not specifically state anyone with the Rinnegan can use it. It says one who posseses the Rinnegan can use Limbo. Not all that have it can use it. For example:

"A person with a hammer can throw it."
The above does not apply if you have no arms. Though, you'd take it as even if you didn't, you could, since you're a person.

It also states that anyone who goes against a user of Limbo would automatically lose and that perceiving it is impossible. I guess you'd believe both of those as well, wouldn't you?

It says one who posses Rinnegan, meaning in general, a person with a Rinnegan. Sasuke has Rinnegan, Hagromo has the Rinnegan. So yes, it applies to all first hand Rinnegan users.

Nice theory, I was also thinking it could be possible that it might have to do with how they experienced near-death scenarios. Madara couldn't use his eyes to notice he was facing Hashi's clone. Sasuke got stabbed by Madara after he was unable to move out of the way.
