As expected Madara truly desired peace.

Not really suprising, considering all the information leading up to this point, and im for one glad that he isn't just some Power hungry monster with no purpose.

As for what happens next to turn him to darkness, is obviously the loss of Izuna.

What i want to find out is, exactly what Izuna like?

I dunno why but i have a feeling that as Madara is shown now to originally want peace

Maybe Izuna was the more militant of the two, maybe he did give his eyes to Madara in order to further Madara's strength

It was said Izuna died blind on the battlefield, maybe he did die blind.

Maybe this was misconstrued, im thinking he took a fatal blow, and offered his eyes to Madara to further his ideals
and this threw Madara into turmoil as Hashirama was the epitome of the opposite to those goals

just some ideas all welcome

what if madara stole izuna's eyes to protect izuna against izuna's will..
and izuna ended up with blind handicapped and died murdered..
what if sarutobi sasuke killed him...hashi was blamed for it and civil warrior madara broke out into madness..
madara blamed himself for izuna's passing.......(self loathing)
then blamed Hashirama for fighting against him in the war in the first place that resulted in madara seeking power..
izuna going blind...and being murdered?

Sarutobi Sasuke? Hiruzen's father you mean

Would be nice for Kishi to incorporate a legendary warrior into the naruto story, however it would have to link up superbly

No no something like this, a satanic Izuna is out of the question I think.

But there is indeed something weird in this whole story. I mean if Izuna's death caused Madara to flip and become a psycho killer, then how can one explain his later disillusioned personality that lead to him forming the Tsuki no Me plan?
