Saw a thread the other day that got me thinking about Madara's Eye of the Moon Plan and if he succeeded in said plan.It went something like this:
I have a question about Infinite Tsukuyomi.Infinite Tsukuyomi is a genjutsu and all genjutsu's as far a i know needs the user to cast the genjutsu and are limited to how long the user can keep the illusion going. There are ways of breaking genjutsu as we all know Genjutsu Dissipation, through intense pain not caused by the genjutsu,Sharingan and death to the genjutsu caster to name a few
I forgot who made the thread and cant find it again but i have also seen a few other people make the assumption that if madara dies from old age after casting Infinite Tsukuyomi it will be broken.
As far as we know madara wants to become the 10 tailed jinchūriki ei next so6p and use his power to reflect his Mangekyō Sharingan on to the moon and shroud the world in an Infinite Tsukuyomi. Madara would have the power equal to So6p but even with that power he isn't going to live forever, the proof is that So6p died of old age.So maybe....
Now thats out the way there are two ways to interpret Infinite Tsukuyomi.
1) Infinite in the way that once you cast the genjutsu you no longer have to worry about it, it will sustain itself with no chakra getting drained from the user and so on but with the condition that when the user dies the genjutsu fades away as with all genjutsu
2) Infinite in the way that once you cast the genjutsu the user can die and the genjutsu wont go away it will be there forever
I think that madara would not take the risk to carry out the plan if he didnt know for definitely sure that Infinite Tsukuyomi would last after his death and kishi wouldnt leave such a big hole in that aspect of the story.The Meaning of infinite is eternal,unlimited or unmeasurable in extent of space, duration of time.So personally im going with 2 it will last forever anyway sumthing to think about please no hate just havin some fun
