Madara's curse mark

First off I know that the panel showed ankos curse mark but madara holding his neck was interesting. People say he couldn't possibly have it due to beig dead before orochimaru was alive. Kabuto had madara's body and was altering it. Who's to say a curse mark wasn't applied then?
