Do you think that Madara is now officially out in the run for main antagonist or do you think that he could still pull out something that explains why he is so calm even though his plan to become the juubis junchuuriki got destroyed by Obito?

Obito can't be the final villain. Madara is too calm to have failed for real... he's got something up his sleeve!

He still is.... We surely will get Naruto vs Madara 1 on 1 which currently looks less likely because of Obito.... But Madara will do something which will pitch him against Naruto.... =D =D

I don't know how hard it is to understand it but Madara was 'calm' about Rinne tensei failing, he haven't seen Obito as Jinchuuriki yet.

This is the true villain here  he will take over both obito and madara and through them as vessels he will destroy the world :I but when rikudo comes the Juubi himself will have to appear

Who knows... maybe Obito revives him on a whim... to get rid of him after.

I'd say this; however, outside of it...yes I'd say Madara is planning more.

I've already assumed based on his reaction from Rinne Tensei's failure that he has an ulterior motif...based on Obito and Sasuke's apparent options...this is my guess.

Obito: wishes to change the shinobi world through an endless dream.

Sasuke: wishes to change the shinobi world by obliterating the juubi. Ending the organization that caused his brother and clan's death (the juubi being Akatsuki's goal).

Madara: wishes to change the shinobi world by simply destroying it...he's deemed the world that's taken his family undesirable....possibly even wanting resurrection to die with it (doubt the last part though).

Madara clearly has a backup plan. As other posters have speculated, it probably involves converting Sasuke.

yeah otherwise I can't explain why he stays so calm except he just wants to be entertained like he told Hashirama before leaving the village
