We have seen very detailed explanation's of the black rods from previous chapters.

The Rinnegan allows the ability to produce charka receiver's and what not.

This leads me to believe that Madara will impale the first to receive his charka, thus possibly gaining enough edge over Obito, who at the moment mentioned that the tree has all of his charka, or most of it.

If madara was to pull something like this, then of course he could possibly quickly over power the jinchuriki Obito before he could absorb the tree's charka to fight back.
