Madara is a stereotypical Shounen villain, at the end of the day he is a very flat character lacking any development.

He can be summed up as an arrogant psycho.

Really he is my least favorite villain, my favorites are Obito and Nagato, they are more complicated and were more interesting.

I blame his surroundings for his arrogance. He was always receiving praise and had a mob of moist lady folk constantly after him.
