Does this finally mean Madara will use the rinnegan? Cause damn if he used shinra tensei he would have destroyed the dragon. Hopefully he starts spamming it now.

Couldn't use shinra tensei the dragon ate all his chakra. It's true madara had infinite chakra but the dragon could quickly subdue bijuu which also had infinite chakra.

Nagato got the eyes from Madara. Nagato is from a clan descended from the clan that descended from the Sage of the Six Paths.

Madara is the first person to use the Rinnegan since the Sage of the Six Paths. He is not only from one of the two clans descended directly from the Sage, but he also has the cells of the other clan imbedded within him.

And besides, it's bad writing if the primary antagonist and main perpetuator of the storyline is weaker than a for fought before.

Madara is already using rinnegan to absorb chakra, summoning meteorites & rinne tensei no jutsu. He will continue to use it (may be in different ways in coming chapters).
