I thought the same as well. I also believe Madara will obtain the Byakugan. After he absorb the Shinju, I believe he will obtain the same abilities as the Sage's mother, Kaguya.

Well he did just absorb Kaguya so he might get that eye and the byakugans, I don't think there would be a need to have 3 rinnegans, they basically are the same power so it sounds more likely that if he gets Kaguya's eye that he gets the byakugan to replace his eyes.

The byakugan was already established as the predecessor of the sharinagan. Also when madara saw sasuke's eye and naruto's power he said he already has both those powers, meaning what they have is no different from his albeit i think like you so I think kaguya's eye is better but I think if he gets that eye he will also get the byakugan because it would be stupid to have 3 of the same eyes and now since madara absorbed kaguya he technically is kaguya+ sage+ juubi meaning he is greater than all of them now.

Unlikely the villain will be given the same power up as one of the main 'heroes' right after they just received it. If anything, he will gain the third eye if it turns out Kaguya was the voice he heard.
