To be honest, it's likely that those "fodder" Senju are above any given current Kage. They survived against EMS Madara for 24 hours, who is just under Hashirama, who was stated to make the Gokage's combined efforts look like nothing twice.

The senju with hashirama considering they survived a war with sharringan users should be around Kakashis level or at the very least Asumas.

Hashirama would beat ems madara though but this wasn't a 1v1.

It was one on one fight between Madara and Hashirama... Uchiha fan boys failed to notice it because they are hurt since Madara gave up hope after he lost to Hashirama.

Hashirama is not a coward to take help of some one to fight Madara and if he was a coward he would have never stopped Tobirama from killing Madara.

Plus it was Madara who need help of Kuruma in order to fight Hashirama and even that was not enough since Hashirama made
PS + Kuruma look like it was a mouse fighting an elephant

Exactly. We don't know if EMS Madara was up to that level yet, but the fact that they survived in that fight at all makes them overpowered.

What you don't understand is, just about everyone from that old era was overpowered.
