madara stupid or phony

Ok so first thing I would like to point out is madara n Dan both stated only hashirama could defeat madara. Hiruzen, minato, nagato, and itachi have the ability to one shot him.

This is what I really wanted to talk about tho. If hashirama could only defeat madar why didn't he return to take over the leaf village after hashirama death. In the first databook it say hashirama died before the 1st ninja war. So why after that he didn't come back to finish what he started?
Any thoughts?

Hiruzen stands no chance bringing him up is just silly
Minato only has shown one sealing tech that if he used would only be a draw
Nagato has the best chance
Itachi gets fodderized
