No other display of counter to IT has been shown in the manga only Sasuke's rinnegan was able to fight off the jutsu.

He should have been able to because Hagoromo didn't have a tomoe Rinnegan or RinneSharingan and therefore wouldn't have found a way to block IT like Sasuke.

Hamura also has the superior Yin affinity so being immune to the genjutsu would make sense, imo they just used the TSB as a shield.
