Actually the Situations are completely different. Madara was controlling Obito remotely, but not using Black Zetsu in any way. In this case, Black Zetsu is spreading throughout Madara's body, which presumably makes the controll much stronger, You can tell by the last panel.

As for swapping with a Limbo Clone, It's unlikely, because he said that he couldn't move, and swapping with a limbo clone is just the Substitution Jutsu.

Madara's black substance controlling ability is same as Black Zetsu, which is why black started spreading through Obito's body. Also, there is no evidence that Black Zetsu makes the control any stronger, since Obito at a worse state than before overpowered him. The scan is posted in the OP.

Sasuke even stated at least four clones were closing in. Realistically there's no reason why it shouldn't happen.

That's a really good point, plus it wasn't to try and trick Madara or anything like that. It was more convenience if anything else.

Zetsu was making an approach to solo, then Madara appeared and Zetsu was like move bitch, get out the way.

Yeah I was thinking about that too. If Madara didn't make an appearance, Naruto and Sasuke could have possibly defeated Black Zetsu and saved Madara from his betrayal haha

Madara and madara's clone were overlapping at the moment, thats one of the reason why naruto and sasuke chose the momemt to attack, now they are separated
