He didn't get weaker, he was just a completely pointless villain. Obito's been around for hundreds more chapters, and he has a genuine backstory/motive. Madara just showed up and declared himself the main villain of the manga for no real reason, other than the fact that obito went with his name. Currently, he's doing nothing but fighting his old enemy with no real effect on the manga.

It's Kishi imho....Madara has to be weakened, held back, etc by plot. Otherwise I feel you are correct... Hashirama, Obito, Alliance, Naruto, etc would be dead imo.

madara is not there to kill everyone.
he can't act out his plan when everyone is dead.
Also,his chance to kill obito was cut short when minato used his ftg to cut off obito's arm.
Everyone acts as if obito stopped it.
He didn't he stopped the juubi from taking over his mind which only happened because minato stopped madara from taking over HIS mind
Even now though he has a plan.
Time span wise since obito became the host its probably hasn't even been over thirty minutes give him madara some time.

OT: Hashirama is holding him up at the moment. Edo Madara is apparently not that much stronger than Edo Hashirama.

Oh yeah, you're right; Talk no jutsu happened last chapter.
Simply because Madara is more on a even level with Hashirama now so He's clashing with Hashirama now while still keeping an eye on Obito in case it's time for him to use his trump card. Think about it this way, PS power can be compared to just 1 Bijuu meaning even 1 tails can cause that same amount of damage. Madara said "The Bijuu"

Madara with PS was still far below Hashirama that he needed the power of Full Kurama to try and win, Kurama (full) is said to have limitless chakra. Ying Kurama, who was out of or low of chakra asked Yin Kurama for some chakra but from his Hands we can see the he was trying to gather more chakra but it wasn't still low because he told Naruto to use his normal form for a while (

). Upon Yang Kurama borrowing some Chakra, Naruto and Minato joined fist to combined their chakra to give everyone and this is when Hashirama compared it to his own when it was like 45-60% of Kurama's power. (
