Hashirama is in edo form and has unlimited chakra and stamina incl. an immortal body and the Buddha.

Madara's only way of defeating Hashirama permanently is Sai's sealing jutsu and they're using teamwork. Hypothetically, in this fight Madara can coat a susanoo ribcage around Sai as well, protecting him. Sai also has aerial abilties, which help Madara which can similarly be coated in Susanoo defense.

Can Madara hold Hashirama down long enough to bring in Sai's sealing or can even Madara not protect Sai from his rival?

True, I forgot the rinnegan paths (and Madara being someone whos actually good with them) has a few ways of defeating Hashi aha, I wanted Sai to be the only one who could finish it so i've changed it and now Madara has no rinnegan but control over Kurama. Usual abilities from the Kage fight apply.

Remember Madara isn't winning without Sai so this is a matchup deciding Madara's defensive skills rather than his offensive.

This is basically EMS Madara with Kurama vs Edo Hashirama as Sai is a nonfactor, and he already saw Hashirama beat Madara at the VoTE, so the winner of this match is obvious.

Considering Sai is the only way for madara to actually win...yeah I'd say he is. Madara can protect him with his own Susanoo, read the first post man.
