no atleast obito realized his mistake and helped out the good guys. madara had a hand stuck up his butt his entire life being puppeted by other people without realizing it at no point did he do something with a will of his own. he helped make konoha because hashirama told him to. he left the village because he got manipulated by bz. he followed bz instructions to fight hashirama. died and made obito do the rest of what he was supposed to do. came back and continued being bz puppet. made kaguya a nice fit body and even did infinite tsukuyomi for her.

OT: its sad we never got to see him go all out. his best fight was with gai and honestly i wouldn't have minded if he went all out against gai and gai was given more time/ techs in 8th gate which allowed him to in the very end beat madara. it would have been way cooler than him losing to naruto and sasukes boring rasengan/ chidori spam
