Madara made Nagato a villain.

From the last chapter we saw that Madara has the ability to channel his will to another person.

we can see that by using black rods Madara channel his will to Obito.

The same thing happened with Nagato when he summoned Gedo mazo.

So Madara wanted Nagato to became evil.He gave Nagato the rinnegan. Rinnegan users can summon gedo mazo. Madara would have know that when Nagato loose important person and he will feel hatred.So Nagato will summon gedo mazo and blck rodes penetrate his body and make him mad.If we examine how Obito became evil we can see that the black rods penetrate Obito's body and channel Madara's will or hatred.

So in the beginning when Madara first summoned gedo mazo it don't have any black rodes. The black rodes are which channel Madara's will or hatred.

Coz Nagato's Reaction to Hanzo's betrayal and what happened afterwards all was sensible, Not madaras' will.
If it would have been Madara's Will nagato would never have told naruto his story and Sacrifoced his life for Naruto,
it was Clearly NAGATO's will...

2. His Best friend was Killed by his own hands.. because of other Village war.

Thats why he started making Impact and Play god... That was No Evil
But a twisted way to Create Peace

I think its power depending on user. I mean Nagato is an uzumaki. He have life force.So the influence of black rode is veryless. But Obito was an uchiha. Uchiha are always emotional.

Some say it was to create a connection between him and Gedo Mazo.. as it would use nagato's chakra..
But Tobi never got any Black rods but he still Controlled gedo mazo

Tobi never got any black rodes because all the black rodes in the gedo mazo was used when Nagato summoned it. So there wasn't left any black rodes when Tobi summoned it.
