Madara left a long time ago.

So, I was watching the Sawyer7Mage review and he said something that caused a realization to click in my head.

Now, he said "Madara came from underground." I first thought he landed. Hearing this made me realize something. Madara left the Kages a long time ago.

I can't remember what chapter it was, but when Madara used the Wood Clones, we saw a panel of something goinh underground that looked like Madara's hair. I think Madara didn't expect the Kage to live through the clones, so he went underground to go find Kyubi and leave the clones to kill the Kage.

This would also explain why the Madara we saw had Edo cracks on his face.

I know it's farfetched, but it's a thought.

I wanna believe it, but if that's the case why does the supposedly real Madara have cracks on his face? Wouldn't one clone releasing it make all traces of ET vanish?

Not all clones do that, only Shadow Clones.

I think that was just showing the clones coming out of the trees.. .If you look closer you can see 2 heads
