[Discussion] Madara knew about Rinne tensei?

Madara was mad that Nagato used RT on the village and not him. Madara must have know about the tech. I'm not sure if its a Rinnegan tech but i think only a so6p can use it so that makes me wonder ... has it been used on him before hence the reason he knows about it? Is that why hes still alive? (Sorry if this has been discussed already.)

He knows this because he simply gave Nagato the Rinnegan, so he must knew everything about it from the beginning

Well, Madara was allied with Nagato. It makes sense that he'd know about his abilities.

But also, as we've seen, Madara clearly knows a lot about the Sage of the Six Paths, the Rinnegan, the Sharingan.. all that fun stuff. It's possible, or even probable, that he knew about that ability before he even met Nagato.

There's also the fact that he says he "gave" Nagato the Rinnegan, and you would think he would know it's powers if he "gave" it to someone.

Another question. You think the user can use it on themselves? Now that Madara has the rin'nagan cant he just keep coming back or do you think it uses to much charka (like you'll die if you use it. we've only seen it once and the user died)

yes but when nagato used it he hardly had any chakra left in his body. if he was at full strength he might not have died

If he had the rinnegan prior to Nagato having it, what would be the point in giving it to him?

He knew about the technique. I don't know what he meant when he said "it was meant to be for me". The Outer Path technique brings the souls of the recently killed back into their bodies and cannot be used on those who have been dead for sometime.

He also knows about Gedo Mazo statue and plans to sync Sasuke with it. It makes me wonder if he really did "give" Nagato the Rinnegan and if it was him behind the Gedo Mazo summon during the Hanzo + Danzo incident and the shinobi that tried to kill Yahiko.

What I think is, he did play a part in awakening the Rinnegan in Nagato. The Rinnegan is not his in a property-like way. He will probably "give" Sasuke the spare Rinnegan he has saved so Sasuke could merge with Gedo Mazo. Gedo means "Outer Path" and if Sasuke is to merge with the "Outer Path", wouldn't that make him one of the 6 paths? This also strengthens my theory that he did in fact awaken Rinnegan in Nagato so he can be used as a synchronization tool with Gedo. From what we've seen, when Nagato sync'd with Gedo, his life force was drain and Tobi cannot take that risk.

If it revives the dead or recently dead, Madara might have needed that technique for his Zetsu army. ( if the tech can revive anyone, including the very very dead, it is possible Madara would have wanted to revive himself if he got killed or possibly his little bro. )

Well, besides the fact that Madara gave Nagato the rinnegan...
Madara has lived for ages, and is probably the most extreme genius the Uchiha clan has ever produced, yes, even more so than Itachi.
As the uchiha enherited the sages eyes, it is not strange to think that sharingan can evolve into rinnegan.
And Madara, being the genius he is, probably devised a way to make it happen.
With that said, he probably knew about the rinnegan and all of its powers before naruto was even born.
