Given recentevents i definitely think Madara got the IT idea from Kaguya, maybe fromthe Gedo Mazo, maybe fromthe uchiha tablet, but i think they're draining the chakra from everyone to create a new fruit

I think the "we will finally become one" line was more in reference to everybody on earth being put under the genjuitsu... making everyone a single being through the tree to prevent war or whatever the **** it is madara has been aiming for
