[Predictions] Madara is smarter than Shikamaru.

Something's rotten in Denmark. The fact that Madara is just standing there and not doing much is really starting to bother me. It isn't just arrogance, he genuinely sees Naruto and crew as pathetic insects, which compared to him they might just be. At the start of the battle, he deflected Naruto's most powerful attack using his gunbai with one hand. He came to Obito's side for a reason, to get the 9 tails. So why isn't he going after Naruto and Bee still? He seems really passive and uninterested in the fight. We've seen this guy summon meteorites to slaughter entire units of the alliance. Stands to reason he could slaughter Shikamaru and crew with the snap of a finger. He's keeping them alive for a reason.

Don't want to diss on Shik, but Madara's masterminded a hell of a lot more than him. Manipulating events decades after his natural death, transplanting his own eyes, bringing the 10 tails down from the moon and plotting his own resurrection is pretty hardcore. I believe even if they "get" Madara now with Shik's plan it will end up being a Mokuton clone. Madara's no fool, as shown by how he took out the HQ just as a petty reprisal for them daring to attack him directly. The good guys seem VERY outclassed right now against the sheer hax that is Madara, he's like the Aizen of the Narutoverse. I know we as fans want to see 8 gates Guy kicking Madara around like a ragdoll while Shik and Lee put the own down on Obito, but just can't see it happening.

I think Madara loses in the end, but it's not to Shikamaru or his Dad. Or to the alliance, it's either to an upgraded Naruto, Sasuke or possibly the Juubi itself. When or if Kabuto wakes up, he'll probably go to Orochimaru's side.

I agree. But he's not 'smarter' than Shikaku. He just has a different type of intelligence than him...

However, when it comes to things like IQ, Shikaku trolls Madara. Regardless, Madara is better at manipulating people and making 'plans', for the future for example, rather than 'strategic plans' to defeat enemies, and is therefore more 'intelligent', in that particular field at least...

Because of his intelligence (living so long), yes he is. He have seen most of ninjutsu in the ************** so yeah. Same goes to Obito, however he is smarter than Madara.

He's sadistic, not passive. I think he's enjoying watching the village that betrayed him and his brother fight in utter despair, as Obito noted. 9 tails is out of juice, Naruto broke his shoulder, HQ is gone and the good guys are looking like overburnt toast. Right now I think even the biggest naruto fanboys would agree Madara has the clear upperhand, regardless of any "plan" Shik's Dad had or has.

Well he has lived so long and has experienced many wars so he has more experience in the field and in the manipulation of peopls mind but shikamaru isn't intelligent from experience,its in his genes men! When he was just a genin he could come up with over 200 Possible strategies as said by asuma during the final chunin exam,so from this i'll say that if shikamru could have the same field experience and long life like madara,he would totally outclass madara with thousands of counter strategies so i'll say shikamaru's IQ is higher than madara's but for now well let's just see if shikamaru's final strategy will work then we'll know who is smarter

Madara has the strength to back it up, and Shikamaru doesn't. So whatever plan he comes up with isn't relevant. Shikamaru would be dead without Naruto there to save his pathetic ass. Shikamaru and his father are fodder.
