Anyone remember shikkotsurin? The legendary place that Kabuto mentioned? Everyone on this board prematurely assumed that being slugs' place cuz of the whole sannin trinity stuff but imo I think it can't be that obvious and Kishi purposefully led us the wrong way.

Shikkotsurin is translated as "humid bone forest" in english. So I looked up the panels in the manga and I found the exact same place that perfectly fits Kabuto's description.

From those observations we can conclude that Madara knows sage mode


So it means that Madara's been residing in sage's place the whole time. It's not actually his hideout.

It also means that Oro and Sasuke heading towards that place to meet the Sage boss to find the answers.

Personally, I think Sasuke is going to find the bone yard and Itachi, not Madara, will be the predecessor to that power, with crows and ravens being the thematic animals. Madara has nearly unlimited power as it is, and Sasuke is going to have to differentiate himself from Madara at some point. Senjutsu would replace Hashirama's power perfectly and allow Sasuke to contrast himself from Madara while sharing a support similarity with Naruto in a dynamic way. I suspect that Itachi, like Orochimaru, simply could not master senjutsu because of his [diseased] body.
