The top 5-7 of most peoples list have almost all got to owe a lot to madara for making them strong, in one way or another. Heres how:
1. Hashirama: he fought madara since he was a kid. That constant rivalry helped develop his own powers as well. Before the era of shinobi villages, the uchiha and senju(butsuma and tajima) were stated to be equal. Hashirama undoubtedly grew from his long experience with madara.
2. Obito: he was saved by madara and given senju cells by him. The uchiha kinjutsu, inyouton and the rikudo jutsu were all taught to him as well.
3. Nagato: his power was the rinnegan, given to him by madara
4. Kabuto: he himself stated his trump card was edo madara. Madara helped him get closer to his goal of becoming closer to the hermit of the 6 paths.
5. Naruto: minato sealed the kyuubi in him because he wanted him to be able to fight who he thought was madara.
etc. Madara played a pretty huge role overall.
