Just thought I'd make a different thread for once. Nothing too serious or anything. Please don't flame me as it is unnecessary. If you don't have anything positive to say then shut up and get the hell out. :) Ok let's start.

His ying-yang is massively unbalanced, but what if there was a way to separate his light and dark side? Would one be completely ruthless, and have no conscience, and the light side would be almost non-existent as he is almost pure evil now?

My depiction of Madara's unbalanced Ying-Yang

As for Obito, he might be knowledgeable, but he has a childish mentality. He is 60% dark and 40% light. He is just a child who was corrupted and got bigger in size and learned things that don't make him smarter in terms of decision making and moral values.

What do you think about Madara and how evil he is. Does he have any good side?

EDIT: I know. The definition I use for evil is "Profound immorality and malevolence"

I know he probably does genuinely think that through power is peace, but it's not right because it's forcing it down on people and it pressures them and makes everybody live in complete fear. He also makes himself want to be the boss of everyone and whoever opposes his wishes, he would vanquish. That's why I came up with the 6% good. Good part actually does want world peace, and bad part is malevolent, thirsty for power, wants control of all things and life, and method of peace is completely selfish and violent. That's the point I'm trying to make.

I'm tired of the word "evil" getting thrown around so carelessly. I suppose it's all perspectives and depends on your definition, but going with the widely accepted standard of what "evil" is, I'm pretty sure Obito's flashback already clarified that Madara isn't quite doing this just to gain power; it's because he genuinely believes power is the key to peace, much like the Elder Son of the Sage.

Ofc he's not evil, that's a matter of perspective.. he's doing what he's doing to find "Peace" In his own way... just like the elder son...
We know he's not evil since even he considers edo tensei an abomination of a jutsu.. meaning he'd never stoop to sacrificing live humans etc....

He attacked konoha in anger that his brother died for nothing... once again, matter of perspective..
He's the antagonist ,yes...but still in his mind he's doing it for good

I don't think any villain is 100% evil, some only make you think they are. lol I'm still not sure if his goal for peace is completely genuine or if he wants total control of everything. That's the one thing I'm still trying to figure out. His intentions seem more selfless than Obito's but that whole story he gave him could have been partly to lure Obito into doing his dirty work for him.

Again, for the sake of his idea of peace. Your percentages are wildly disproportionate as you A) don't take his backstory into consideration and B) underrate the value of his motives. I wouldn't even stick a percentage on it in the first place; that'll just cause pointless arguments over nothing when every rational thinking person can agree that he is merely misguided in his beliefs.
I'm noticing a pattern with the Uchiha. They want to do the right thing for the greater good but go about in a way that makes people think they are the enemy.

Their behavior is mostly because they have the shittiest luck in the world. I mean their entire clan got cursed for what their ancestor did. Name one Uchiha who doesn't have some sort of tragic or dark past/ending. The universe just hates them, really xd
That's what I like about this story. Many stories have a good guy and a bad guy. The point of the story is to defeat the bad guy. In Naruto, you get to see how human everyone is, good or bad, and sometimes find yourself leaning toward the antagonistic. I want the Uchiha to be happy but not the way they are going about it. Sasuke seems to be their one chance at salvation because I think he's still got the purist heart of all of them thanks to Naruto and Itachi's words.

I call BS, Madara hasn't done even 1 decent thing in his miserable life wtf
It's because motives and actions are two different things.

It's nice and all, but I'm starting to grow tired of it. It's why I was so fond of Hidan and Kakuzu. Having antagonists whom you can understand is fine, but every now and then I crave for the ruthless psycho who likes to tear things up just for the hell of it. At a certain point all the tragic backstories in the world get rather generic. Though I do really like Madara's... it's Obito's I have a problem with :p
I loved the Akatsuki. They were my fav reason for reading/watching Shippuden!

lol I agree. During Obito's story I kind of felt for him (but it's not really tragic), but right now I wouldn't mind him being crushed alive again and this time not surviving... and I can't help but like Madara.
