Well, I'm more basing it off of themes and story than on ninja technicallity.

They are very similar. Yugi and Kaiba are both transmigrants of ancient entities locked in eternal battle as are Hashirama and Madara.

They are rivals. One of them is more dominant in battle. One is humble and other is arrogant etc.
