I see what you are trying to say but it feels like he just keeps adding more and more random and exaggerated elements/monsters in his world which he will never go back to just to entertain us by the week, and it usually works but gets stale after a while. How relevant is the 'world building' if 90% of the stuff you see won't hold any significant past the few pages where it first appears?

Yea I read it.

it isn't really random

like Oda the man explains in great detail his world and has amazing foreshadowing

like Neo being foreshadow early on.... Peoples powers being also foreshadowed, phenomenons that we assumed was just random later shockingly being exposed as a monsters feat

betrayals and what not..... and we can't really say the other is just in it for the spectacle since the whole story is well written to the point of even explaining the reasoning behind this crazy planet... that and the fact that since chapter 1 the author has literally teased that Toriko and the gang (which started off already quite strong) were just a small thing in a larger story scale


therefore I believe you are wrong about 90% not holding any significance since every added feature fits into a puzzle that leads to logical hints of the endgame



compared to Kishi who just randomly changes things on the fly and tries to patch it up later on
