It's not the same. Naruto would just have been a normal kid without the Kyuubi. He'd maybe have high chakra reserves, but if not for the Kyuubi, he'd have died very young.

Madara had however gotten famous in the shinobi world way before the Senju DNA came along, and was the only one able to stand up to the man who's powers were considered to be a fairy tale. He just implanted the Senju DNA to get even more powerful, but he was always strong without it

Assuming EVERYTHING went the same, yeah. But how do you know everything will go the same? It won't because Kurama changed Naruto's life. Everyone hated Naruto and wouldn't want anything to do with him, making Naruto want to be acknowledged and he did whatever he could to get attention. He might not have been a prankster or someone who was stupid if he did get attention and love from the start.
