Madara & Hashirama were best friends like naruto and sasuke

I think they were best friends on the low low. They didn't want to disrespect their clans and kept it a secret. According to the manga they had multiple battles but never killed each other. Until that day Hashirama had to layth the smack down on madara. So basically they were the past version of Naruto & Sasuke. What do you guys think?

I agree. They seemed very close even during their first meeting. They probably held back when fighting each other in battle.

They were more like... a way to escape their reality.

Madara could talk to Hashirama even though he was Senju (Not knowing he was of course)

This bears an even better question: Did Hashirama know that Madara live? Do you think that he allowed Madara to live? Prhaps he thought Madara would live his life and die, not cause the trouble he is currently causing.
