Read the question (and carefully) that was proposed to kishimoto, and then read his answer. You'll understand the sage of the six paths is IRRELEVANT to the question.

Are you sure? Sage Of Six Paths is consider as a legend. A myth. In the Naruto verse as of now. He does not exist. And is forever seized to exist. Edo Madara AS OF NOW is stronger currently. In point of time

Because he can use Hashirama's powers as well as his own, the crap the hashirama beat him with, he is now in possession of, Hashirama's advantages were Mokuton and chakra levels, and now Madara has them both, along with PS, and if that was not enough, he also has rinnegan, I think it's obvious Hashi ain't on Madara's level anymore.
