Could point. He got stabbed and managed to appear death, either by Hashi not paying attention, izanagi or some other way.
Than he implanted Hashi's DNA in the wound and survived.

Wasn't Hashirama also good and genjustu and being a senor type. He could have read that it was fake if Madara used genjutsu or if it was a fake.

What I think is that Madara used the cells from Hashirama's wood clone, did you notice how it didn't disappear? Of course I'm probably wrong, just throwing it out there though.
