First I thought that Maara afaraid to tell him that he had sharingan .But it is not the case.He didn't tell it to Hashirama because he hadn't awaken it.

In this page we can see that Madara with held from the competition because he knows that he hadn't awaken sharingan and he don't consider himself as an elite ninja.He thinks that if he had sharingan he could have protected his brothers.

So my conclusion is that when Madara and Hashirama enjoying the view Madara never worried about his clan. He only worried that Hashirama will knew that he still don't awaken the sharingan. It is a shame to Madara

He didint tell hashi coz of he's not allowed to (shinobi's rulz) not because he didnt awaken the sharingan yet, its got nothing to do with his sharingan at all. Hashirama too didnt revealed his identity at that time.

i agree to some extent that he wasnt afraid but he didnt tell hashi because it was a taboo and it could result in both having to kill each other and so by not revealing who they are they could be friends with out any hate

also if he wasnt afraid why didnt he just introduce himself as madara uchiha
