If you look closely you can see he crashed down from the sky, but that still doesnt explain how/why he went from fighting the kage to appearing next to Obito within a matter of chapters (or in their time, about 20 minutes)

Yup, or the Madara that the kages were fighting was a wood clone and the real Madara went to find Obito right after he released edo tensei.

He didn't teleport. He came falling from the sky (super body flicker perhaps?), like a prophetic entrance fit for a character like him to signify a great turn of events and to tell everyone "Madara's here!".
