Can somebody please explain the Limbo jutsu to me I do not understand how this jutsu works :/ It's very confusing

It's basically a shadow clone that can't be seen/sensed unless you have 6 paths senjutsu or Rinnegan.

The name is interesting - it's basically purgatory or in this sense a self-created image in Purgatory. Which would explain the black and white surrounds and the shadow. Since Limbo is an in-between realm, his technique seems to work the same way. He basically calls the shadow to his aid, but it takes time after its usage to be used again.
