Madara and Gai (manga, may be spoiler to some)

As many of us saw madara said that he knows gai from somewhere, before they began fighting. Where could they have met? Maybe when madara was old, gai helped him with something while not knowing it was madara? I hope kishi will explain that.

uhhh....I'm pretty sure he was referring to when they first encountered each other...they fought once when Madara first showed up (when he was still Edo)...There was a gap from their first "fight" to when Gai fought Madara in 8 Gates mode...If Madara meant a time before he died, it would have definitely been explained...
