Gin has three sets of swords, two steel and one bokuto. The metal one is located on his back and the other one on his right hip. The carries his bokuto on his left hand, positioning himself on a traditional Waki stance (left foot in front), though only using his left hand, while keeping his right on the front of his body for equilibrium.

Mifune, drawing a blade from the scabbard on his left hip, taking on the Gedan kendo stance, with his left foot leading.

"As you wish," he says, acknowledging the truth in his friend's statement.

To begin the fight that would become a battle of truly tremendous proportions, there was no better thing to do so with than with the simplest of strokes; stepping forward, Mifune quickly cut upwards with his blade, cutting upwards towards his left, aiming to slash GIntoki across his right thigh.

Mifune, drawing a blade from the scabbard on his left hip, taking on the Gedan kendo stance, with his left foot leading.

"As you wish," he says, acknowledging the truth in his friend's statement.

To begin the fight that would become a battle of truly tremendous proportions, there was no better thing to do so with than with the simplest of strokes; stepping forward, Mifune quickly cut upwards with his blade, cutting upwards towards his left, aiming to slash GIntoki across his right thigh.

As the Mifune starts his approach, Gin keeps calm and collected. He has seen thousands of swings in his life, so this one will be no different, even if it comes from a master swordsman such as Mifune. He notices Mifune placing himself in a Gedan stance, meaning that one of the possible outcomes will be an upward swing. He breaths in, and concentrates on the blade and in the arm of his opponent.

The blade swings, as expected, a vertical swing aiming toward his left. With extraordinary reflexes and concentration, he positions the sword pummel parallel to the incoming blade as he lets his forward momentum wide him. His entire existence and future depends on getting the right position, being wrong just a bit could be fatal. His left hand moves forward, which holds the wooden sword while the right hand moves back, still close to the body at the abdomen level.

The blade hits the pummel, and due the material of the wood, the sword is temporarily stuck in place (the sword would be slightly parallel to the ground, and the bokuto perpendicular to it), but not for too long. Gin, continuing his momentum, uses his right hand to push the sword from the flat side away from his body toward his right, while at the same time applying some downward force to release the blade. Simultaneously, Gin changes the orientation of the sword, making the bokuto almost parallel to the ground, with the tip pointing towards Mifune's sternum. The bokuto is finally aimed at Mifune's chest when the sword get stuck from it, as it is pushed away.

Being less than a feet distance from his sternum, and in order to gain additional momentum, Gin allows his body to fall forward even more, but due to his training, his body moves unconsciously to the equilibrium point. As he falls forward, the tip of the sword being a couple of inches away, he steps forward strongly with his right, extending his left arm completely and his right arm backwards to push the hardest he can, hitting Mifune's sternum and pushing him helplessly toward the ground.

Immediately after ending, Gin positions himself in the Chudan stance with his right foot forward, this time holding the blade with both hands.

All events occurred in fast succession.

When Gin positions his bokuto just so, so that Mifune's blade catches on it, the swordsman takes advantage of the fact that his upward slash has a predominately parabolic motion, and thus allows his center of mass to quickly follow through the same path; even as his blade becomes halted, by allowing his center of mass to move backwards, while also pulling backwards on the curved blade, while stepping back, Mifune is able to quickly wretch the blade free while creating distance between himself and Gin; with Gin's own rotation of his bokuto, Mifune alters his path so that he steps towards his right, as well, avoiding any potential thrust.

Just as Mifune prepared to take up another stance, a voice calls out.

"Wait, Mifune...mind if I take this one?"

Looking over, the blonde samurai sees his friend and traveling companion, Keotsu, dressed in his European garb with his hair tied back, and his blade Mythos on his hip in longsword form.

"Ah, that would be up to Gintoki. I have no qualms switching with you, Keotsu."

"So, what do you say, Gin?"

 

[Gin-San]

Gin scratches the back of his head, and says:

"Oh Ketsu, you know I'll accept the battle, but what about Mifune?"

Keotsu turns to Mifune, and lifts an eyebrow, silently repeating Gintoki's question to him.

The blonde samurai shrugs light heatedly, and simply replies, "I'll simply go home and go back to reading my book. I'm sure Angela will enjoy the company, anyway."

Nodding, Keotsu responds as he steps up to take Mifune's place, "Thank you, Mifune."

As the Osamurai walks away, Keotsu places his left hand on Mythos's scabbard, and draws the longsword from it's holding.

"Alright Gin. Ready for this?"

Keotsu turns to Mifune, and lifts an eyebrow, silently repeating Gintoki's question to him.

The blonde samurai shrugs light heatedly, and simply replies, "I'll simply go home and go back to reading my book. I'm sure Angela will enjoy the company, anyway."

Nodding, Keotsu responds as he steps up to take Mifune's place, "Thank you, Mifune."

As the Osamurai walks away, Keotsu places his left hand on Mythos's scabbard, and draws the longsword from it's holding.

"Alright Gin. Ready for this?"

"Cya Mifune, you'll get me a parfait later for leaving."

*Gin goes into a chudan stance*

"Come, Ketsu"
