[Predictions] Luffy's possible powerups.

So I had some ideas on what they could be, because as he is now, he cannot fight against top-tier opponents.

-Development of Don Chinjao's Hasshouken which uses vibrations to harm enemies and destroy armor/weapons.
Luffy is essentially an elastic band, my idea is that he could flex all the elastic in one arm and release it at the same time. If he could fashion this into a punch or strike, he could achieve something close to Whitebeards Gura Gura punches.

-Improvement of 3 forms of Haki.
Busoshoku Haki to the point where he can withstand the effect of harmful DF substances such as Magellan's poison or Akainu Magma and piercing strikes (his weakness).
Haoshoku Haki is supposed to dominate the wills of others. I am still waiting for Haoshoku haki to be used to control those with weak minds, instead of just knocking them out.
Kenbunshoku Haki, I want to see Luffy have almost perfect awareness of his opponents actions, as well as using it to block out opponents using their own Kenbunshoku haki to predict Luffy's movements.

-Second DF
Personally I dislike this possibility, but he could get Ace's DF and be like Teach. However I read somewhere that Oda said Luffy will always be a gomu ningen.

-Gear Fourth
Rubber grinding against Rubber generates a lot of friction and heat, if he could protect himself with Haki and reach high enough temperatures, he could achieve a semi-liquid state. His punches would be red hot etc. I see this as a possible way to match Akainu's magma. He could also go all the way into a liquid state, but again I dislike this becuase he would essentially become Logia which is not what Luffy is about.


Anyway I just felt like putting my ideas together in a thread, make of it what you will! I would like to see if there are any other ideas out there that intrigue me so get replying

He doesn't need a second DF to fight top-tier opponents all we need is another timeskip. It should happen in the next 8-9 years.

As for "new" abilities possibly add ons to the whole fire theme like a red-hawk gatling.

On that note... I have a friend (he's on here and OPB) who once thought of a similar Gear 4 concept. He argued the idea that the intensified vulcanization/friction of Rubber could give him a "Plasmic" state.

So he'd have things like "Jet-Plasma-Pistol".


My idea for Gear 4 was this: Combine the size power of Gear 3 with the speed of Gear 2 creating an existence that was reminiscent of Nightmare Luffy.


Also... With my Gear 4... Gommu-Gommu no Jet Elephant Gatling Red Hawk.... is a possibility

OT: I just have to complain on something. People need to stop saying being cut is Luffy's weakness! That's EVERYONE'S weakness! xD

Also, if he was able to use Hasshouken plus what you added, I think it would look more like Sengoku's shock waves. Which I love.

Also on what you were talking about, KGB, I would like to see Luffy being able to fill his muscles with air. That way, he could become big like Nightmare Luffy for a limited amount of time. I'm hoping he will use something like that against Kaido. Unless Moriah joins the alliance, feeds Luffy with tons of souls, which will enable him to defeat him.

Rubber is awesome. Luffy can come up with insane ideas. I don't wanna see something like Natsu that humiliate/insult the fire ability we loved by Ace.

To be fair a lot of people come up with the idea of shape shifting. Ever since the Ennies Lobby arc people thought it was possible for Luffy to shape any part of his body.

I came up with the complete liquification though , nobody ever mentioned it on the base before I did (like two years ago)
