Hey guy, I'm new to the forum so I just want to apologize in advance if I have made a mistake or posted in the wrong section. Cheers.
So I was wondering what Luffy's Gear Four would be (If he were to ever get one), and I came up with a theory. To understand my theory I will need to tell you my theory on how Luffy uses Red Hawk.
How Luffy uses Redhawk
So basically, my theory is that whenever Luffy enters Gear Second, he releases steam due to an intense heat in his body. When Luffy uses Redhawk he is actually drawing all this heat inside his body to his arm and expelling it, resulting in his arm igniting into flames.
How this affects Luffy's Gear Four
My theory is that Luffy will use this fire to make his attacks stronger, and will be able to choose what part of his body is going to ignite (e.g. arms, legs, etc). I think that this will become a new improvement to Luffy's abilities, sort of like how Gear Second gives "Jet" moves, and Gear Third gives him "Elephant" moves. I believe that this will give him "Flame" moves or something of the sort and increase the damage he does. A downside to this ability to prevent it from being overpowered is that it would be quite tiring and be very physically requiring due to the need of a) Gear Second to produce the heat inside his body, b) Haki to stop his arm from getting burnt and c) Having to control and ignite the heat enough so that it will produce flames. Because of this I think it will not be as spammable as Gear Second, but could be used in situations where he can't use either Gear Second or Gear Third because of Gear Second's weaker attacks and Gear Third's slow attacks.
Gear Second:
Damage = Low
Speed = Fast
Physical Requirement = Low
Gear Third
Damage = High
Speed = Slow
Physical Requirement = Medium
Gear Fourth
Damage = Medium
Speed = Fast
Physical Requirement = High
Tl;dr I believe Luffy's Gear Four will be to clad parts of his body in flame (which he has shown he can already do with his arm) for increased damage.
