[Theory] Luffy's biological mother, various theories

Below is a list of the various theories on Luffy's mother. I found these on other forums and random sites. I read number 7 and 8 on the same forum, and it inspired me to post my own thread. I once posted a thread asking for theories on Luffy's mom and received a comment that it was impossible to create a theory about someone we know nothing about. Surprisingly, even though Luffy's mom has never even been mentioned in one piece, there are many theories about her:

Luffy's mom theories
1: Luffy's mom is Gol D. Roger's sister
2:Luffy's mom is the former gomu gomu no mi user
3:Luffy's mom was a marine
4:Luffy's mom was a Celestial Dragon
5:Luffy's mother has already appeared in "One Piece" either as a named character or someone in the background that readers didn't notice
6:Luffy's mom was a pirate
7: not only was she a pirate,* she was inspired by real life pirate Mary Read, who fell in love with a prisoner of her's whom she called "husband" (Luffy's mom/Mary Read:Mary Read's "husband"/Dragon). She later avoided execution by announcing she was pregnant, and died in prison. There is no record of the burial of her child. In Assassin's Creed Black Flag, she died after giving birth. The theory goes that Luffy's mom/pirate was captured, gave birth to Dragon's son Luffy in prison (where she bled to death without proper medical treatment), and Luffy was rescued by his grandfather who took him away to safety. Dragon, angry at her death, started the revolutionary army.
8:Luffy's mom was Dragon and Makino's childhood freind. She was taken away by a Celestial Dragon who was visiting Goa Kingdom.
9:since Luffy doesn't look like Dragon, people believe he resembles his mother (or Roger if Luffy's mom is actually Roger's sister).
10:Luffy doesn't have a mom.* He was cloned from Dragon by Vegapunk for whatever reasons.

9 is really a side note. I find ten disturbing, but believe I should include it. I find number 7 and 8 are especially interesting. Of course it's completely possible Oda will never tell us about her. Thoughts?

Im sure well at least get a brief explanation of who she is/was. The fact that we havent already learned anything about her makes me think shell be a bit more relevant than that though.

I think Gold Rogers sister/relative is a very likely scenario. If not by blood then by some other connection to him.

Why Luffy's mom cannot be a normal human being?

My reason,
There must be a strong reason why Dragon is so against the World Government, the other reasons are seen to us, that is, the dark side of the WG. But maybe, Luffy's Mother got shot by WG or a Celestial Dragon.
The reason why Dragon didn't cared how his son will live in this world. He might have planned for his son to face the harsh world by leaving him alone (then Garp left him in Dadan's care)
Dragon didn't even care when Luffy came to known to the World as a Pirate.
Also there's no compulsion to think that Dragon was also a pirate before becoming the Revolutionary. He might not be. OR What if he was an officer of the World Government and decided to put a stop at their doings?

luffy's mom might just have been a "normal human" [not a marine/pirate], since Usopp's mom is the only other mom I can remember and she was "normal", though if she wasn't normal I'd lean more towards marine than pirate. theory 3

Oda said something about his mom already being drawn and she didn't look pretty. Turn out he was trolling and he was talking about his foster mom who took care of him and Ace. Her name was Dadan we all have seen her.

#11 Croco D. Isle saw what happened to Roger's kid, being hunted, and knowing Dragon was ani government worried the same so she met Ivankov and gave birth then had Ivankov change her into Crocodile.

No I'm not serious but I love throwing this out there to upset those who take this too seriously.

I was going through this thread, almost everyone who posted in that thread wanted to know something about Luffy's mom so i did some research and i found something which i think is possible, so here goes my theory.


As you guys already know Jewelry Bonny's character is based on real life pirate "Anne Bonny", i was going through her wiki page and found a companion of her's who's a pirate herself.Her name is Mary Read.


Bonney, Mary and Jack
In 1720 Mary Read joined pirate John "Calico Jack" Rackham and his companion, the female pirate Anne Bonny.
Yes "Jack" was the captain of both Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Theory about Jack and Bonney here: Jack and Bonney Relation


Read at first used to dress like a man and pretend to be one.Nobody knew that Read was female until Bonny began to take a liking to Read thinking she was a handsome young fellow.That forced Read to reveal to Bonny that she was a woman. Jack, who was Bonny's lover, became jealous of the intimacy between them and threatened to cut the throat of Bonny's new paramour. To prevent Read's death, "Jack" was also let in on the secret.


That way Bonny and Read became very close friends.




Mary & Dragon
During their brief cruise in late 1720, they took several prisoners and forced them into useful service.


But this is where it gets interesting,Read fell in love with one such victim who was surprised to learn that she was a woman and eventually returned the affection. When one of the pirates challenged her lover to a duel, Read contrived a secret duel to occur a couple hours earlier. She killed the pirate before he could bring any harm to her lover, whom she called "husband" as they made vows to each other in absence of a minister.


You may think Bonny looks so young now, there is noway she would have known Luffy's mom but she has a DF which can make her (look) younger.


Now let's switch to that lover.


We know there are so many theories floating around that Dragon is a marine (if not an admiral).


I think during journey of Jewelry Bonny and Luffy's mom, they took Dragon as a prisoner but Luffy's mom fell in love with him.


Mary's Death
After some time all the pirates that are on Jack's ship were captured.


Jack and his pirates were swiftly tried and found guilty: most of them were hanged on November 18, 1720. Bonny and Read were sentenced to hang, but both of them declared they were pregnant. A judge ordered their claim checked out and it was found to be true, a fact which automatically commuted their death sentence.
Read died in prison in April 1721 But Bonny survived, and there is no record of burial of her baby.
(Any one who played Creed Black flag they should know this story )


Conversion to One Piece
I think Luffy's mom was pregnant with Luffy in prison.She died giving birth to him in prison and Garp took Luffy away to look after him. Dragon, hearing of her death, became enraged, which lead him to soon become a Revolutionary to take revenge against the World Government for his wife's death.


Well i think this sumsup my theory but i can't be sure how "Jack" is alive in OP world, he should be dead according to this story maybe Oda did some changes to the original one.

I know this theory may not look like the best one but well i tired XDD


So what do you guys think about this theory? Is there any possibility of her being Luffy's mom?

I feel like this isnt just a one or the other option.

She could be Gol D Roger's Sister AND a celestial dragon AND a Ex-Marine AND A Already named character. She could she be a super super obscure East blue character we only saw once.

Now that would be character Dynamics. Gol D Roger's Sister a Ex-Celestial Dragon Marine Hero Pirate loving bad ass.
