[Discussion] Luffy's awakening

Since I've seen doffy use his awakening I've been trying to figure out how luffy's would be useful for more than sending people flying and rebounding items back like his gomu gomu no balloon so what are your thoughts

He'll turn into a Logia? I highly doubt it. If Luffy Awakens, I hope it's a defensive variant of Gear 4, like how Boundman is the offensive variant so far.

I think puffy will be able to turn objects into rubber. I can see this as a defensive tactic as opposed to offensive. Like if he got thrown into the wall he could bounce back and punch

i've seen a youtube video that says it might take the form of the monkey king sun wukong.

If Luffy turns things into rubber, he becomes a Logia. He'd be making rubber that wasn't there before be there, and he's already made of rubber. Doffy could create strings, so his Awakening enhanced his ability to create strings. Logically, being made of rubber, Luffy's Awakening should be something that enhances the aspect of being made of rubber.

Logically, being made of rubber, Luffy's Awakening should be something that enhances the aspect of being made of rubber.

Well would be cool seeing if he awakens buildings near him being rubbery.He'd have an advantage in battling.But then again u have a point.Having a defensive type of gear would be amazing.

I'm pretty sure not all awakenings are the same, Luffys awakening needs to be a game changer. Something that's actually going to allow him to beat the Top tiers. Luffy bouncing people on and off areas is lame and not really much of a power up.

Unlike some people I think his awakening will be simple, something that will significantly increase all his base stats and Gears. He will also be able to stretch farther than he ever has before. Able to pump blood faster for G2 etc.

His awakening will make him actually look ripped too. Not big like G4 but stronger for sure, in fact I think his awakening is going to be a major power up because lets face it, he needs a major one.

I imagine his awakened G2 to be strong enough to beat Marco, so you can imagine where his G3 and 4 will put him.

People tend to forget that rubber is not always elastic. There are many variants of rubber, like natural rubber (rubber in the form of liquid) and ebonite (hardened rubber). Luffy's Awakening could be the ability to change the nature of his own body, changing between a liquid kind of form, a much more solid form, and his original form.

Maybe his awakening allows him to use all gear 4 gears at once in Luffy's base; his form won't change like gear 3 and 4 but he can use all of their abilities. Or he can get a bit toner in muscles but he would look normal. He can move as fast or faster than gear 2, use gear 3 or 4 interchangeable and not feel any of the side effects.
