Sea water makes DF users sick.
They can still use there power though.For example Arlong arc, Nami's sister pulled Luffy's head out of the sea.
Normal water doesnot affect them.

Major difference there, is that he hinted to Gear 3 in his fight with Blueno. He didn't hint to any Gear 5 while fighting Doffy. I think it's more likely that he'll just get more experienced with Gear 4, and be able to keep it active for longer.

luffy was tired in that fight ... and the hint stuff was mb bc he knew that he was had to fight luci.

Hmm I'd ike to see another gear buuut.... Blueno was fodder to gear 2, Luffy could of probably beaten him without it at a higher diff. While on the other hand Gear 4 was barely enough to beat doffy even with help and it still has major drawbacks. I don't see Luffy using Gear 5 on Kaido, he'll probably use it on people before kaido (Jack? a strong fighter from BM crew? Webble?) and we'll see him getting better with both gear 4th and 5th in these fights and THEN he'll combine gear 4th and 5th in his fight with kaido.


Just a speculation though

No but doffy's story relevance/power/portrayal and characterization were not similar to buleno at that point at the story let alone the same, not to mention that those two gears were revealed at the same arc and luffy was even going to use it against buleno. Doffy had his own arc and story and he still is a part of the main story unlike buleno.

Again burh, you should get smacked for comparing those two
