Maybe but problem is that considering the low level of damage he was giving to the super structure of the Noah, i don't think he'd have managed it before it destroyed the bubble surrounding fishmen island, so Luffy basically risked the life of so many people despite having the capability to burst out gear4

Sorry, but in your vision of the event, how do you see G4 taking care of the Noah? Much more effciently than a G3 gatling gun enhanced with armament.

It's a poll opened for many options. I can't say i know the reply myself, but i prefer thinking gear3 mode is more powerful, otherwise it would render the mode obsolete

He destroyed half of it, and even the sea kings said that he would've destroyed it before it crashes on the island. Luffy is a Boss bruh.

Yes i know he could have destroyed it. What i don't know is if he'd have destroyed it before it cracked the bubble. And i seriously doubt he'd have managed considering the low level of damage he gave to it after such an amount of time comparatively to how close the Noah already was from the bubble surrounding the island. Ignore the scaling. You see the picture yourself. Does the Noah seem that heavily damage to you? And judging by how close the Noah was from the bubble, how exactly does Oda want me to believe he'd have managed really? And even if he did destroy it somehow, the debris would still fall, destroying the bubble and still ending up destroying fishmen island. In that position, no matter how i see it, i don't even understand how destroying it would have helped unless Luffy completely reduced it to dust(something he wasn't even close in accomplishing)

No there's no debating, when the sea kings themselves has said it wtf?and no once the ship is wrecked all what luffy has to do is punch it one more time and boom all the weak pieces will shatter

Maybe the gear is hard to control? A misstap and he could have bounce blitzed himself in the water
But answer 2 seems the best, G3 covers alot more area

I would assume that Luffy knew Gear 4th would of done a better job but didn't want to risk using it; just in case he couldn't destroy Noah in time before the drawbacks of gear 4th starts to kick in. We saw Luffy bouncing around for a while after using gear 4th which would of been worse than just consistently using gear 3rd. Luffy was on a time constraint, he had no time to lose so he used the gear that's more consistent and powerful than gear second.

Because Noah didn't moving fast. For me, G3 and G4 is similar in strength, but G4 have speed and G3 (gatling) have more area of effect .

Are you by any chance trying to ignore that the statement itself was an assumption made by sea kings? Luffy can definitely destroy it but it takes time a lot of time in fact. Whether Luffy can destroy it in time or not is a big question mark. It took 100's of hits from Luffy to accomplish what he did to Noah and all he managed to pull was to destroy superstructure of it which is not even close to being half of Noah.

In this case he has too, if he used gear 4th and couldn't destroy Noah in time because of the drawbacks of gear 4th then the people he's protecting will die. What I'm saying that in the long run gear 3rd may of been the better alternative since he has much better control over it than gear 4th.
