People are probably gonna ***** and moan about this but I've been thinking... is Luffy too strong?? The last two arcs have been shit in my opinion save a few moments but because Luffy hasn't had a tough challenge. He basically walked over Hody and Caesar was a ****ing joke. Now, I hoped Don Chinjao would really show is what the New World is all about but it seems he's veen defeated by some.random.new attack Luffy randomy pulled out.

I just want someone or something that makes me remember the past Sagas of OP that were amazing and cool and so far the New World hasn't that too me :(

p.s If Luffy beats Don Chinjao and ultimately goes up against Jesus... AND WINS... i'm dropping the manga legitimately.

I'm only on ep 260 but I know about the current arc and I've looked ahead I think doflqmingo will challenge him and beat him at first.

Well he was trained by raleigh, thats enough to make him strong, but i guess luffy is going to loose right before he gets his hands of that devil fruit, i forgot its name.

He wont loose thats what the Training for 2 years for to get dominated there first 2 weeks i guess in New World probably a month. Hody was just a taste of what there new techniques are. Ceasar is a SET UP VILLIAN they put them types of villains so the hero face THE BIG BAD VILLIAN Doflamingo and then a yonkou that will push luffy

Well personally I thought it would have looked bad if Luffy had completely struggled fighting Hody especially since it was after the time-skip. We expect to see growth in his skills after 2 years so I felt it was right that he was able to defeat Hody with ease.

Also put spoilers next time, some people only watch the anime.

Merra-Merra no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit).

OT: Honestly I think an even larger problem is the ridiculous Gap he's made in the crew. I mean he has made the Monster Trio freaking monsters, but the rest of the crew seems to have either slightly improved, or seemingly gotten a bit retarded.

I mean look at Robin...she is better suited for stealth and assassination, and yet all she's been doing is working as walking fan-service, or using the same giant hand attacks. I feel like she's losing her original persona of being a ruthless, sneaky, mysterious fighter....and it saddens me as she's probably my favorite character.

I think the idea of showing Luffy's power is a good thing as the arcs showed 1. How much he's improved, and 2. He can now actually fight Logia. I think Don will be fine from this hit, but he will eventually lose to Luffy. As for the ending of this tournament...it will probably descend into chaos before then.

This arc will be Luffy's first challenge. Doflamingo, Burgess, and Diamante are all going to be tough if Luffy has to fight even one of them.

He'll prob. lose some where this arc or next. I can see it being like when he fought croc. (losing to Crocodile 3 times), he might lose to Doflamingo 2-3 times as well. Oda likes to keep Doflamingo really mysterious so I can't see that guy being beaten in one match with full.

What I'm waiting for is Luffy to go all out in a fight.

Currently started watching One Piece, on episode 9 :D
Gotta long way to go though.

don't bother , i'm at 84 and i recently begin to watch one piece , and it's good so far , however the baroque works arc is a little slow paced , but you'll like it (i'm in the baroque works atm).

The problem Oda created for himself in the situation with Burgess and Luffy is that if Luffy wins, the BB Pirates lose their hype about their captain just achieving the Yonko status. But I Burgess wins Luffy loses all his hype about him being allot stronger in the NW. I dont mind Luffy being this strong anyway. Its nice to see him actually very formidable and strong for once and to be able to fight on par with people he couldn't before. The SH are already starting to scare people in the NW and they just got there. I like that aha :p

The ending of PH was so f?cking epoc for me amd Dressrosa just continued that for the most part

You know it doesnt always have to be an extremely tough opponent that you struggle against only dbz needds that because it has no real story so all you watch it for are the fights, OP on the other hands has anvery complex story and it came to shine in the second half of PH, if you cant appreciate a good story I dont know why you are even reading manga, I personally preffered the last luffy v ceasar being a 1 hit and Vergo being sloced in 1 hit because the story with the SHs, Law and Doflamingo (and G5 and Aokiji) is just so f?cking epic

If you want to quit than quit, its your loss

not really he is not pulling meteorites out of the sky or making tsunamis so he is not too strong. Heck he hasn't even split the sky as some people have done.

Why you do you have to randomly start hating on DBZ and people who read this manga?
Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
I understand your appreciation towards the manga, but no need.

Regardless, this arc is only just beginning. Im sure Oda is aware of whats hes doing and will somehow make the ending of the arc wow us all. Looking forward to the end of it. As for now, patience.

I don't mind him being too strong.... But he isn't.... There are many characters who are currently freaking stronger than Luffy.... This is just the third arc Post TS.... Pre TS Luffy seriously got his ass handed to him for the first time by Crocodile.... Until then Luffy was winning every fight with low to mid diff.... For this arc.... Doffy is surely going to be a great challenge.... So I don't think you will feel the same about Luffy being too much powerful at the end of this arc.... =D =D

Well Oda is a smart guy and iMO everything is cool, its cool to see Luffy crushed as in his fight with Croc and go all out as with Lucci but if it went like that after 2yrs of training it wld darn well b embarrassing. Just think of FI, PH as the Alvida(1 hit k.o), Axehand Morgan(no test really, Buggy 1st time around(literally blasted piece from piece) arcs they are build up arcs and they show what Luffy has so when in the next fight he does it all u know he's being pushed to the limit.

Don Chinjao and Luffy are pretty much equal. You're high.
Burgess>Luffy.
Doflamingo>>Luffy
Fujitora>>>Luffy
Kaidou>>>>Luffy

How on earth is he too strong!? The first arcs where at the start of the new world. The closer to Raftel you get the stronger the enemies are. Luffy is barely a top 30 character.

Why drop the manga because the protagonists win? Isn't that the case in almost every Shonen? Drop Naruto because Naruto has only lost once. EVER. Luffy has lost a lot more than Naruto and Luffy is not overpowered like Naruto.
