Wow..great thread. I was looking to read up on this but have been postponing for a while. I have read about Out of body experiences though. (Even watched a movie on it a la Insidious) and I must say..nahh. It ain't cool...that is if it's truly a real thing. I say this because my brother has been a lucid dreamer ever since he was young. He's read on it, had some level of success in manipulating some of his lucid dreams and he decided to try and move on to what should be the next stage. --OBE! But that hasn't worked at all.
Anyways i have experienced Sleep paralysis and like someone has said above..that stuff is not legit at all. It's downright frightening. I really hate it tbh. Being sorta awake and not being able to move your body is not cool at all. trust me xD.

I used to have them all the time but they made me feel unrested and ruined the surprise feeling of dreams. I like dreams when they feel like reality, when i get concious during a dream i know they just are not real like earth is.

I have lucid dreams almost every night. When I get to that point where I'm conscious enough, I start creating my environments, shifting surroundings and people, animals, beings, whatever. It's nice but the best dreams are the ones that trigger emotions I normally do not feel throughout the day.

I don't know what the big deal is. I have had over 50 lucid dreams and I am still at a young age.
It is no big deal indeed. All you have to do is set your alarm clock between 4 and 5 AM, depending on your daily routine. Wake up for a minute, go back to sleep and voila. Lucid dreaming is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to consciousness exploration. My signature is a nice example of the things I've seen and experienced.

Dreams are a way for the brain to make you remember, and create new worlds through memories.

Even with my great awarness and senses, i "forget" the things i want to do inside the simulator and its runned automatically against my true will. But i still do not understand the concept of this "true dream " world, since every human have their own way of judging reality and non-reality.

I experience it a lot. It is annoying. I get so scared. I say to myself. 'It's a dream wake up already!'
You get scared during lucid dreams?.. ._. lucid dreams are bliss..
Only OBE's can be scary as you are often exposed to entities and your ego is obliterated into pure observation for you to leave your body. That is scary, yes.

How do I lucid dream on an ongoing basis? How do I increase awareness in my dream? Not long ago I had a dream about fighting Doflamingo who invaded my house while I was dressed as Saitama. It was epic to say the least but not once did I question if this was real or not. There have been times where I recognized I was dreaming but that didn't do shit.

Look at clocks/phone throughout the day. Pinch yourself. Draw an A on your hand. Lean against a wall. In dreams you'll have extra fingers/time isn't consistant. You'll check the time and it'll be 5 O'clock. Check a minute later, it's half 2. You'll fall through walls in dreams btw.

You do it enough irl. You'll do it unconsciously in dreams. It'll trigger you to remember to lucid dream. Repeat "I will have a lucid dream." Over and over. Dream journal helps you spot trend in your dream. You recognize them in your dream. Bam. You take control. Lying completely still until you have one is unbelievably hard. Beware of sleep paralysis btw. You can't move and you may imagine demons/spiders w/e trying to get you. Didn't watch the vid. Sorry if I repeated stuff.

If you get up around 8AM for school or work, set a one-time alarm on 5:30AM, wake up for a minute and go back to sleep.
Basically this should trigger it. Every lucid dream I had happened when I woke up for moments at the peak of my R.E.M only to fall back asleep moments after.

Really? Damn, that's lucky. Most of my lucid dreams are from when I sleep on the couch.
I wouldn't really call it lucky. Yeah, it's cool to control your dreams. However, being unable to sleep at night kind of sucks, especially when I have important things to do in the morning.

So basically you can LD as easy like riding a bike, but that has triggered sleeping issues? Insomnia?
That must be a drag man....
