"C'mon grandpa! How much longer do I have to wait?" Jay whined.
"Enough Jaden! Alright." replied Jay's Grandpa Max with a heavy sigh.
"Alright? ALRIGHT!" Jay hollered.
"But," immediately Jay's excitement dropped, "You're gonna have to complete one high profile case. This'll be your last test." Grandpa Max stated with a smile.
Jay couldn't help it. He was so ready for whatever test he had coming for him. Because after that, he'd finally get what was coming to him, the Omnitrix. He remembers the first time he wore the watch. That first transformation was like nothing Jay's ever experienced. More than that, Jay was ready to help people. He wanted to do more than just save kitties from trees. And this mission was going to be his ticket to finally getting there.
"And that's everything. We're gonna have Rook stay on standby here at the Plumber Base. Your com-link is connected to both me and him. If I feel anything is even about to go wrong, we're pulling you out. Got it?" Grandpa Max boldly stated.
"Don't worry about it Grandpa. This'll be a cinch. Let's get this show on the road already." Jay happily replied.
With all the set up in place, Jay moved to the teleport bay. He stepped onto the circular platform and stood firm with a smile of confidence. He turned around and looked towards his Grandpa Max and friend and teammate, Rook. Rook was nearby the computer monitor, happily smiling towards Jay. Meanwhile, Grandpa Max gave a serious expression, but Jay was still able to see him smile. Jay grabbed his left wrist and twisted his wrist in a manner that showed he was warming up. The countdown began for the teleportation. In a few moments, Jay would be transported directly to his destination.
"It's Hero—"
Grandpa Max gave off a sigh. It wasn't necessarily one of worry, but of concern. "Rook, how's he looking?"
"I'll check right now Magister." said Rook.
Rook then pressed on his com-link while looking at the computer monitor. "Jay, do you copy? Did you make it to the destination?" A pause occurred for a moment and Rook tightened his facial expression. "Jay, this is Rook with Plumber Mission Control. Do you copy?" Another pause would occur. At this point, Grandpa Max widened his eyes completely. "Jay! JAY! Magister, he's not responding! And the computer can't pinpoint his location!"
Grandpa Max immediately went on the move, "I WANT A FULL SQUADRON DOWN THERE NOW!"
In no time, people raced to the teleport bay, but the teleportation could not go through. The Plumbers soon realized that there was something currently blocking the teleportation from reaching the other side. They couldn't get to him at the immediate moment, but Grandpa Max instructed the squadron to take the Plumber Ships and fly to the designated coordinates. As he piloted the plane, Grandpa Max tightened his grip on the controls and raced towards the destination.
"—Time!"
Instantly, Jay was suddenly surrounded by 5 individuals inside an incredibly fancy building. Among the individuals included a large round bald man with a goatee in a red suit, an elderly fellow with a monocle and diamond-tipped cane in an orange suit, a lean and slender man with a cleanly shaven face and expensive hair cut in a yellow suit, an older woman with her hair tied up in a indigo pant suit, and an attractive young woman with long flowing black hair in a revealing and tight light violet dress. They were unsurprisingly surprised at Jay's abrupt and unexpected entrance. They all seemed to be located within a ball room of sorts.
As soon as Jay had teleported in though, an alarm was set off and the lights changed hues to a very full red color that engulfed the room. A robotic voice had been heard through the speakers of the house.
Jay suddenly gave a stunned look. He immediately placed two fingers on his ear, attempting to contact Rook and Grandpa Max on his com-link, only to find that it was completely useless. He gave off a brief breath of annoyance before smiling.
"Guess I'm going solo on this." he said as he looked towards the group, which was still confused from Jay's presence. "I'm gonna get straight to the point. I'm with the Plumbers, and I'm here to solve this case. We were informed about the cell towers getting knocked out and the house getting placed on lockdown. We tried to get in and out, but it looks like with teleportation down, and the fact that I can't contact Grandpa means that we all may be here awhile. In the meanwhile, who wants to brief me in on the details?"
The group still looked with confusion and concern. There was an awkward moment of turning heads and mumbles. It wasn't until the man in the yellow suit began.
"So you're with the Plumbers? What kind of organization sends a child for this? We don't have time for this! We have people dead! We're in danger and this kid is who we have to place our trust in?" he said condescendingly. There was a large sense of arrogance that Jay could pick up from the man.
"Oh don't be so tough on the boy Rillo. Especially one as cute as him. I'm sure the Plumbers know what they're doing." said the young woman in the violet dress as she winked to Jay, who responded with a nervous flattered smile.
She walked up to Jay and handed him an envelope, stating how each of them had received the same message. Jay looked at the black envelope, which had a peculiar texture. It was obviously a much higher quality than standard. Inside was a black paper, also made of a fine material, with white text.
He was then instructed by the lot of them as to how there was a small coin slot that was placed right next to the door, inside the house. When Jay approached the area, he noticed the coin slot, but there was a key to open it up. This made Jay increasingly more curious at the situation. What reason was there to have them pay? Why were they even invited in the first place? As he moved around, Jay noticed in the corner of his eye the group discussing with one another, clearly with immense concern. Jay went back to the group and gathered around them, discussing and trying to get to the bottom of this.
Inside a computer monitor screen room, a man stood flipping a coin while staring at the security footage. He saw Jay teleport in and had to figure out what to do. After quite some time contemplating, he placed the coin on his thumb and flipped it, as if deciding his course of action by the result of the coin toss. He quickly capped the coin with his other hand as it landed on the back side of his hand. He lifted his hand to see the outcome and smiled. The man clicked a button and stepped out of the room. A countdown appeared on the screen. 10... 9... 8...
The group had discussed enough. With the intel that Jay started with from Plumber HQ, he knew that each member of the group was involved in underground activity, which elevated their careers and placed them within the 1%. Not only that, but they had all worked and known each other from before. Based on the conversations going on though, Jay could tell that none of them were involved in the crime. Their sense of panic was enough to get them to reveal everything to Jay, all of their actions and crimes. It was clear that somebody else was attacking them. Based on the situation, it seemed like the murderer wasn't looking for any form of compensation from the group. It's as if they simply wanted to kill them, perhaps out of revenge, or to get a feeling of justice. The conversations continued.
"I'm not about to wait here for the next black out for one of us to die!" exclaimed the man in red.
"And we don't even know who's next! I want to get out of here!" continued the woman in purple.
"This is disgusting! We're stuck playing a sick game of chance!" the man in orange finally shouted.
Jay's eyes widened. That was it. That was the final dot that he need to connect everything together. He knew who was in
"Chance! That's it! It all makes sense now... You all have crimes you need to answer to, and someone's forcing their twisted sense of justice. But they're not leaving it up to what they think is the only method that's fair. Leaving the outcome to fate, the result of a simple coin toss... They're leaving it up to—
"—Chance."
At that moment, the computer screen room had finished it's countdown and hit 0. When that happened, the lights went out and a single spotlight rose up and shined on other side of the room at the top of the grand staircase, where a man in a custom made suit stood. The suit was fashioned with an inverted color scheme straight through the middle of the piece. The left half of his blazer and pants were entirely black, while the right half was entirely white. The left half of his button-down dress shirt was white while the right was black. His tie was perfectly aligned down the middle of his wardrobe, with the left being black and the right being white. His frightening presence was only overshadowed by his more frightening disfigured face. The right side of the man's face was handsome and well defined, but the left side was scarred with terrible burns and wounds.
"And really, I'm just being fair. The only morality in this cruel world is chance. Unbiased. Unprejudiced. Fair." He said as he walked down the stairs.
"Two Face... just as I suspected. At the start, I had a hunch that you were involved behind this, and with the group talking, it all became clear the moment before you arrived. Listen, the last thing I'm gonna do is defend these people for the 'angels' that they are. But you know as good as anyone that they'll answer to their crimes under fair process under the law. You can't go around killing them and claim you're being moral."
Before he began to reply, Two Face flipped a coin. "I'm simply leaving this all up to fate. I'm using each of their coins. Whatever their money lands on decides their fate. I'm really not even deciding here." This explained the reason for the "admission". He replied as the coin landed on his hand. While it was covered with his other hand, he spoke. "Since you didn't pay though, we'll use my coin. After all, it's only fair. If it's head, I kill you." After he said that, he raised his hand and looked. "Well, I guess I won't be killing you today." He said as he flipped it again and smiling at the results. "But these guys will." he said as he signaled his hand up. A group of goons suddenly appeared around Jay, ready to attack.
Jay stood in the center of 3 people standing all around him, one directly in front of him, and two behind him at a angle so that they formed a circle. He was surrounded, but not out. He only looked forward and raised his arms, calmly, yet with power. His left hand was near his solar plexus and his right hand was forward. His right foot was forward about shoulder width apart from his left and his knees were bent. As he stared into the eyes of the grunts, he gave off a smile.
At a moment's notice, the three of them each dashed forward. They all head forward with fists ready to be formed. The man directly in front of Jay (Grunt A) forms a fist in his right hand, swinging it low and aiming to hit Jay's stomach from the left and follow through. At the same time, the man to Jay's left from the rear (Grunt B) was pulling his right arm back while his left arm was forward. He would then begin to pull his left arm back as he sent his right arm forward, to increase his own momentum. His right hand was in the shape of a claw, and aimed at Jay's neck, with the intention of choking him. In the same time, the man to Jay's right rear side (Grunt C) would be racing forward, ready to kick Jay's back with a roundhouse kick from his left leg. This all was happening at the same time, but Jay was ready.
Jay started by slightly waving his left palm outwards while turning his palm upside-down and pulling his right palm to where his left palm was (near the solar plexus) as he slid his right leg in a clockwise circular fashion from its 12 o'clock position to 5 o'clock. As he was doing this, he would also turn his torso clockwise as he leaned back all the way down to his waist. After sliding his right foot to 5 o'clock, Jay would immediately use the momentum of turning his body to raise his left leg. This would be one fluid motion. By waving his palm outwards and upside down, he could fully extend his own arm and release chakra from his palm to push away his punch before firmly grasping Grunt A's arm from the wrist. Grunt B's arm was aimed to Jay's neck and would be too high with Jay leaning all the way back down to his waist, effectively causing him to miss Jay's neck. Also, with Jay now turning his torso to the right as his was leaning back, Grunt C's roundhouse kick would not be hitting Jay's back.
So now, Jay was facing 6 o'clock while his torso was perpendicular to the ground. He had his right foot forward facing Grunt C, and was bending low to his waist, while his extended left arm held Grunt A's arm. As he was sliding his foot, turning his torso, and leaning back in one fluid movement, Jay was also pulling Grunt A's arm up high in the air, lifting Grunt A up. Jay would make a full circular pull with his left arm, sending Grunt A up above Jay and releasing him. This essentially had the man who was coming from 12 o'clock be lifted above Jay and sent flying onto table towards 6 o'clock. Once he landed, he broke the table and was knocked out from the damage.
At the same time Jay was lifting Grunt A, Jay's left leg would be performing a roundhouse kick towards Grunt C, as Jay's leg was already being raised from the momentum of spinning right and turning his torso. Jay's kick would reach Grunt C's stomach and send him back before his own kick could reach Jay due to the speed of the momentum Jay had. And due to Jay leaning low to the ground, Grunt C's kick would be too high to even hit Jay.
While Jay's left leg was being raised, his right arm was still close to his solar plexus this whole time, and he extended his right arm forward to strike Grunt B's stomach with an uppercut. With Jay being lower than Grunt B's initial aim, Jay would easily strike his non-protected stomach and knock the wind out of the man. The result of this one fluid movement was Grunt B being knocked out of commission along with Grunt A and Grunt C getting back up.
With two of his grunts down, Two Face gave a worried expression. He started to run away just as Grunt C raced forward and attempted to send a right handed jab to Jay's jaw. Jay casually stood back into his first position and smirked at the two remaining individuals. Jay grabbed the Grunt C's arm and swiftly turned him around as he spun 180º, causing Grunt C's back to be facing Jay. Jay then continued with his spin, sending the man off the floor and in the air. Jay then released his hold of the goon, sending him flying forward and landing on Two Face as he was running.
"GAHHH!!! GET OFF YOU ME IMBECILE!" Two Face screamed as he struggled to break free from underneath the passed out man.
Immediately after tossing the man, Jay raced over and quickly tied Two Face down. Just as he was about to cuff him with the handcuffs he received from Plumber HQ, the doors slammed open.
"By order of the Plumbers, surrender or face the consequences!" hollered Grandpa Max.
The plumber officers followed after him and marched in, armed and focused. To their surprise, all was taken care of as Jay waved over to them with a smile. Grandpa Max smiled as he saw his grandson safe. He was a little surprised at his ability to handle the situation. The officers moved over towards Jay as he passed on Two Face to them to be taken in. The other officers then grabbed hold of the grunts and proceeded to gather the group.
"Boy, it took you guys long enough. I told you there was nothing to worry about!" he said cheerfully.
As the group of men and women in their colorful wardrobes walked behind the officers passed Jay, he stopped them for a moment and looked to his Grandpa.
"Oh, hold on a minute. I think the authorities may want to listen to these confessions." Jay said as he pulled off his ear piece. "That's right, I was recording everything." he said mockingly.
The entire group gave him an evil look. Jay simply waved to them good-bye as the plumber officers pushed them forward. Jay then looked over to his friend, Rook, and his Grandpa Max. He high-fived Rook and looked to his grandfather.
"So Grandpa?" he inquired.
Grandpa Max stood their with his arms crossed and serious expression on his face. He held that position for awhile before finally giving off a smile. Without saying anything, Jay already knew what he meant and cheered. He passed!

He passed!
