was on a journalist's trip through Gotham on that particular day, that lovely midday Friday. His mission? Find out why that McRonald's fast food restaurant has been blowing up over the country lately. It's a mundane mission no doubt, but being normal in the face of abnormal sometimes had its pleasures. Like obeying traffic lights and staying in lane on GTA. Anyway, the bus had just stopped and he got off, said bye to Louise on his phone and then turned towards the restaurant when he heard a scream:
"Help! My baby!"
An apartment complex was being eaten by flames. The smoke was thick and black and he could hear the structure of the building complaining from the heat, it wasn't going tor last much longer.
Instincts kicked in and Clark ducked behind the crowd of people exiting the bus. From there he found am alley and begins removing his shirt and pants. Beneath them were his iconic blue and red suit with the Symbol of Hope etched across his chest in the letter the humans call "S".
In a blurred fast movement Clark folded his clothes ever so neatly and placed them in a safe spot. From there he blazed toward the building with inhuman speed, tearing past onlookers who so stupidly held their phones to record the chaos.
While running, he kicked the door to the building off its hinges with a resounding blam!
(Why was this closed in the first place?) He thought to himself as he took the flight of stairs one floor per leap.
At the fourth floor where the fire was least rampant, Clark saw an old lady in her bathtub with a bottle of water spraying at the burning carpet before here. "Get back!" She screamed. Clark wasn't sure if she had referred to him or the fire. He stepped over the flames with caution and wrapped the woman in his cape.
"It'll be alright ma'am," he reassured her.
"W-wait, we can't leave flowers behind."
"Flowers?"
"Yes, I can't leave here without him." She pointed to the adjacent room which was barred by a block of wood.
Clark used his X-Ray and scanned the room. A nimble skeletal structure was huddled up in a corner. It was a cat. Clark pushed the board aside with a subtle motion. It flew so fast and far that it exploded into splinters somewhere off in the room. A quick scoop of the hand and Flowers was back with its owner.
(She's losing oxygen, Clark, move now)
"I know, I know," he replied to his inner guidance. He looked to the cloaked woman, "Hang on ma'am."
With that he jumped through the closest window, four stories up, and landed in a mini crater beside an ambulance. Which somehow just made it to the scene. After he handed over the woman he dove back into the building without hesitation...
There were 23 people trapped in that building, including a baby, and 24 living things if Flowers is to be counted. Clark saved them all. In the end he was nothing but a soot covered, smoke smelling, hero. The people rallied a chorus of cheers as the last person was saved, the landlady.
"Thank you, whoever you are. You saved my life. But my building..." She looked to the now crumpling structure crackling with flames. "What will I do now?"
"You'll carry on, like the others I've saved here today." He patted her back. "I'm sure you're a strong woman, capable of starting fresher and stronger."
"I...don't know. It's all because I evicted that guy for not paying his rent...I'm a terrible person. I caused this!"
Clark held the crying woman for a bit. "What guy? Was he the one that set the building on fire?"
"Yes...He was trying to kill me. All these people were just...collateral. "
His face hardened. "Where is he?"
"He's probably miles away now, he took off in a red car just minutes after setting the building ablaze and locking us in."
(You'll make him pay, Clark. That man has caused a lot of misery here today)
"Oh I will..."
Techs used:
Technique Name: Godspeed
EXP: 10
Type: Mutant
Rank: C
Description: Using his superhuman physiology, Clark is able to reach great speed. By pushing from the ground in either a run or flight Clark can reach incredible speeds only appearing as a blue and red blur to mundane eyes. This ability grants him a boost of +5 Speed. While using Godspeed Clark is unable to use any of his other superpowers however as all his focus is on this otherworldly speed and keeping himself from wrecking stuff.
Technique Name: Radiative Vision
EXP: 10
Type: Mutant
Rank: C
Description: By harvesting his stored Solar Energy Clark can emit focused beams of radiation from his pupils that, with enough concentration can be used offensively and in a supplementary manner. In the offensive way Clark can fire beams of high energy lasers at his targets that can reach up to mid ranged. These beams aren't really dangerous, they can deliver 2nd degree burns to regular human skin, after sustained contact and melt traditional metals like Iron and Copper. If left trained on a target these lasers can become quite dangerous. For more "strategic" uses Clark can also tone down the radiation to provide X-Ray Vision. With this he can see through people and objects up to short range. The X-Ray doesn't hurt people or things.
Note: Laser Vision aspect costs a move while X-Ray can be used passively for a max of 3 turns per use. After which it takes 2 turn to recharge.
